Ken Miller: 2012 Road to Victory

Dear Montanan,

We are well into the first of the year and back on the campaign trail.  It has already proven to be an exciting start to the year, and our family is looking forward to the race ahead.

Adding to this excitement, I am announcing an addition to my statewide campaign Co-Chairs.  Montana business leader and entrepreneur, Greg Gianforte of Bozeman, now joins Ray Thompson of Kalispell(pictured, left, with his wife, Ladeine), Harrison Fagg of Billings, Lola Galloway of Great Falls, Joe Billion of Bozeman, State Senator Dave Lewis of Helena and Duane Mitchell of Sidney as Co-Chairman of the Miller for Governor Campaign.

Gianforte serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of RightNow technologies in Bozeman.  Greg founded RightNow in 1997 with his wife, Susan and took the company public in 2004 with one of the year’s most successful initial public offerings.  They have enjoyed continuous growth since inception, and RightNow is Bozeman’s largest commercial employer and currently the state’s only publically traded technology firm.  RightNow employs 1,100 staff with just over half of the employees in Bozeman where their average wage is over $86,000 per year.  Nearly 2,000 consumer-focused companies around the world count on RightNow to deliver superior customer experiences while simultaneously reducing customer costs and increasing revenue.

On October 24,2011, RightNow announced an agreement to merge with Oracle Corporation in a deal valued at $1.5B that will bring Oracle to Bozeman and make Montana a significant location for the world’s largest enterprise software company.

Gianforte is also the founder of Bootstrap Montana (www.bootstrapmontana.org), which provides 0% micro-loans to rural Montana entrepreneurs who bring jobs to the state.  Greg and Susan are also co-trustees with their oldest son of the Gianforte Family Trust, a private foundation focused on Christian causes in poverty and education.  The Gianfortes have called Bozeman home for 16 years, have been married 23 years and have four children.

“2012 will be a historic election for Montana, and it is fundamental that we choose the right leader for our state.  It is vitally important to me that we elect someone who understands business and who will be able to work with an experienced team around Montana to move Montana’s economy forward.    I believe Ken Miller is the man to get the job done for Montana," Gianforte said.

I am honored to have Greg endorse me and my campaign and assist us as a campaign co-chairman.  It is essential for me to have key advisors who understand the challenges we face when we discuss reinvigorating Montana’s economy, building new jobs and unleashing Montana’s potential.    Greg’s background as a proven job creator and Montana success story will bring an enormous benefit to our campaign and we are deeply honored to have him associated with our campaign efforts.

New national numbers also have our campaign gaining more grassroots support as other candidates see their numbers decline.  Our own internal efforts also show us gaining on the front runner as we continue driving the miles around Montana, drawing support wherever we go and gaining attention from opponents and supporters alike with our “army of green”.

This is an exciting race that we know right now, more than ever, belongs to me and to those that support this campaign.  I really need your help and finances to purchase the signs, media, new campaign materials to educate Montana voters about this campaign.
